Richard Yates Medical Fund
Donation protected
I am reaching out to our friends and family because my Brother in Law Richard Yates is in need of your prayers and help. The last couple of months have been very trying for Richard and his family. He has been struggling with blood pressure issues which prompted his cardiologist to perform several test. Which at this time they discovered that he had 95% or more blockage in several of his arteries and also discovered he had an aortic aneurysm. At this time he was admitted to Tomball Hospital awaiting surgery for Tuesday May 2nd. The morning of surgery it was cancelled due to his aortic aneurysm being larger than what they thought. Richard was referred to another surgeon on Friday May 5th and at that time was admitted to HCA in the Med Center. After being admitted his blood pressure became very elevated and it was crucial for him to be moved into ICU. They were unable to stabilize Richard’s blood pressure so at that time they decided to schedule surgery for Monday May 8th. Richard under went a 7-hour surgery in which they performed a quintuple bypass (5), aorta aneurysm removal and aorta repair. He is in ICU and has developed A Fib and experiencing some side effects from the numerous medications he is currently on. At this time we are unable to determine when he will be moved from ICU to a regular room and then eventually home. Because Richard was in very critical condition, we are all very thankful that he received the medical help he so needed in time. He is so very lucky to still be here with us all. All of his medical team has taken wonderful care of him. We know that he has a long road of recovery ahead of him and with that being said we ask for your prayers and help at this time. Richard currently has no medical insurance and will be unable to work at a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks or more. He will also have multiple doctor visits after he is released from the hospital. This is not easy for all of us as a family to reach out for help. But at an unexpected time like this we learn to lean on our family and friends the most. So please if you could give whatever small or large amount to ease the stress of all the medical bills that they will incur. At this time us as a family would like to thank you in advance for your support, your prayers and love during this trying time.
