Richards weavers funeral NHS neglect victim

Hi my name is Charlie.

I am the son of Richard Weaver who sadly passed sunday 15th september due to losing his life due to neglect from the nhs staff at basildion hospitial.

He attend the hospitial 3 months ago with a bad toe. They told his family he was too ill to remove the end of his toe due to his size and other illnesses. They sent him home 2 weeks later he got rushed into hospitial with sepsis and was in icu for 2 weeks. They put a DNR order on him saying his not worth being brought back to life because his quality of life beacaue his not able to run up 2 flights of stairs. I challenged this and said what about people in wheelchairs ?

They told me well your dad is not.

Dr Brown basildion hospitial wouldn't help him or anything due to this.

We prayed for him and he got better and went onto a ward called Elizabeth fry basildion hospitial.

After weeks of fighting and protesting at the hospitial I got him a operation on his foot and he was recovering very well. However this is when the problems start

On that ward a nurse called John and charles abused him. Made him cry at night. They left him on the bed in his own toilet over night because we got told he was too big to clean. While my dad was on there we challenged them and all they did was laugh and said nothing.

They even took his pillow from under his head and removed his pillow case to wipe his bottom as the toilet paper was in another room. I asked them and they said yes it's true but it's OK as its 100% cotton

The ward is know to others as Elizabeth death as if your love one goes there they will not come out alive.

He was on this ward for 58 days

They didn't move him once and feed him on a feed tube laying town and fluids.

Friday 13th we had a call dad was unwell and finding it hard to breath

When we arrived we found out that he has fluid on his lung and he needed therapy to help move the fluid

They promised to come 3 times that day

But didn't show up to the next day

Saturday 14th September

He couldn't breath atall and was very very unwell

They then told us his lung is callasped and blocked and his not going to make it

They told me the therapy people are too busy and my dad needs 2 or 3 as his big

But when I was there they were always at the back playing football or on phones on FB.

Sunday 16th September

Early morning he got to the stage were his body was shutting down

We asked for pain relief for him this took ages

5 members of the family stayed with him In a side room and we all sat on the floor as they didn't help atall

I had to hold my dad's hand as he took his last breath knowing that he has died due to neglect and not what he was there for .

Monday 17th September

Went to hospitial were his belongs were throw in a carry bag with rubbish they took of the side and his stuff was thrown on the floor like trash.

We collected it and as a family we went home without a dad

My mum without a husband

And grandkids without a grandad.

Today 17th September me and my amazing wife went to visit him and in the hospitial chapel meet the lovely manager David

He said his so sorry and he lost his wife in January in this hospitial too and a similar story she got neglected and sadly passed

We also meet a lovely lady in the breavment suite she used to work on the same ward and she has heard horror story's and she knows what the ward is like

Today we had a call from the hospitial and got asked what would you like to put on the death certificate of why he died ? What a joke they killed him then they asked what should we put

We have had nothing but issues with them please do not got to basildion Elizabeth fry I attended there today and told patients who are sick to get off that ward

My dad was the most kindness guy you would ever meet. Do anything for anyone give his last penny to anyone

When he was on the ward he would buzz his bell for help but hear a younger person crying for help and if the nurse did come to him my dad would ask then to see him first

We have gone to pals and nhs complaint government I want the ward shut down

Basildion hospitial also want £1095 plus £82 doctors letter to realise his body they are killers and nhs here are all about money

Most important to me is his story getting out there and people not going near that ward

His furnreal is £3500

My dad deserves the best send off after being put throw pain and abuse for over 50 days

Would mean world to me and the family if anyone could help so he can have extra special send off

I really would like if people could give something I know times are hard for everyone but even a £1 would help
