Please help Ted (the Tumor) take a hike!

Our Dad, Richard Frank, was diagnosed with Stage III Pancreatic Cancer on December 3rd, 2020.
It all began with stomach pains. A pain here, a pain there...completely solvable by popping one or two Tylenol when the pain reached higher levels of discomfort. The nagging stomach pain continued day after day until it started to become unbearable; at that point Dad decided to reach out to his general practitioner.
At first, it was thought he may be having issues with his gallbladder. A CT scan of the abdomen showed a possible pancreatic cyst; thus, an endoscopic ultrasound was performed which ultimately confirmed Pancreatic Cancer.
Cancer is depressing. The word makes you think dark thoughts, and we don't want that. Thus, we have decided not to call our dad's disease Pancreatic Cancer from this point forward. Rather, it will be referred to as Ted:
As in "What's the status of Ted?"
or "Did Ted decide to leave yet?"
or, better yet, "F&@K you, Ted!"
Because Ted is hanging out in the head of the pancreas and touching the liver vein, Dad's pancreatic surgeon concluded that it would be best to do chemo for 3-4 months. This would be followed by scans to see if Ted has shrunk and, if that is the case, perform Whipple surgery (an operation to remove the head of the pancreas) followed by additional chemo.
Not only is Rich a dad to two daughter's, but he is a father-in-law to two amazing son-in-laws, a Papa to four incredible grandchildren and, most importantly, a husband of 46-years to his wife Terry.
Rich is an uncle, a brother, and a friend to countless people, many of whom go way back to his high school days.
We want Rich to get the very best, latest, and top notch treatment to support his fight against Ted. Getting the highest quality of treatment is expensive, even with insurance. There will be co-pays for doctor visits, chemotherapy, extensive lab work, scans, prescriptions. With all that is ahead on this battlefield, finances do not need to be at the top of the list of concerns for either Rich or Terry.
Of course, we understand that not everyone is in a position to help financially. There is so much difficulty and uncertainty going on in all of our lives now. Even if you cannot donate, please share this Go Fund Me page with as many people possible through as many social media and personal outlets available to you. Additionally, prayers, prayers, prayers are the most welcome gift of all.
We will keep you updated along the way. Thank you for loving and supporting Rich through this extreme trial! #FUTED #pancreaticcancer #projectpurple #pancan
