Burial Costs for Richie Fitzgerald
Donation protected
Richard Fitzgerald passed away on Septmember 3, 2017. He died at Passages Hospice, while listening to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole sing Somewhere Over The Rainbow. He had many wonderful friends around him in the days before his passing and it was clear he left a legacy of love and devotion.
Richie had enough resources to cover his hospice stay, but not the costs of cremation and the interment at a cemetery. The family was able to get the resources to pay for the cremation, but need assistance with the burial costs. The Diocese has some more affordable options (relatively) but we still need funds to lay Richie to rest. ALL funds will go toward the plot, buriel and cemetery fees, and an urn to inter him at St. Louis No. 3. Any funds raised over $2100 will be go toward costs of engraving the burial niche and the funeral/wake (location, date and time to be announced soon).
We are hoping to have the funds by September 10th so we can plan for interment and a wake in the following week.
Thank you for your support. Richie was a New Orleans character through and through and was loved by many. We are so grateful for your support during this difficult time.
