Richmond Family Medical Expenses

Hi, our names are Kayla Brown and Sara Hendricks and we are here to hopefully help with the financial costs for our friends Brandon and Chelsea Richmond.

With the blessing from the Richmond's we have started this account to share their story and help them out in any way we possibly can.

Chelsea started having symptoms in August of 2022 with swelling of her limbs. Her physicians initially thought she was having Congestive Heart Failure. She had been through multiple tests, labwork, 2 rounds of heart monitors lasting months, Heart ECHOS all coming back negative. She did get put on blood pressure medication and continues on this. As the tests started continuing to come back normal they decided they were going to stop testing for a while. Shortly after this she had an incident with her tongue swelling and continuing to swell as well as Migraine Headaches coming on quite frequently. Chelsea was concerned and contacted her Primary Care which then felt maybe they should consider a Brain MRI due to this being symptoms of a Pituitary Gland Tumor. The MRI was performed in May of 2023 and came back positive for a Brain Tumor 4cm in size infused into her Brain Stem, They started out seeing specialists at Parkview and did not feel 100% comfortable so they seeked a 2nd opinion at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She has undergone multiple testing including 4 brain MRI's and 1 Spine MRI (Negative for any tumors on the spine, Thank you Jesus) and multiple visits so far to Ann Arbor to see the Neuro Oncologist and Neuro Surgeon which is a 3 hour trek one way for their family. The surgeon, (Dr. David Altshuler MD) has finally set a tentative date for surgery to remove the tumor on August 9th. This surgery will take approximately 8 hours, with a long recovery. This is a very extensive, scary and long surgery for their family. They cannot be for certain if it is cancerous until they get some of the tumor out to test it, as of right now it is a 50% chance that the tumor could be Malignant (Praying it is not). They do still have at least 2 visits and the 3 hour trek to Ann Arbor prior to surgery. They are scared, nervous and need all the prayers they can get. If you have it in your heart to help, or can at least pray over their family and the surgeon's hands they will appreciate anything. Chelsea and Brandon have also had to spend quite a bit of time away from their 3 children and this is taking a toll as well on them. WE just want Chelsea better and healing quickly!
