Team Rich

My best friend/soulmate Rich was diagnosed with prostate cancer in March of this year, 2018.  In July, he had his prostate removed in hopes this would be the end of cancer.  Sadly, this was not true.  Rich's cancer had spread outside the prostate to the lymph nodes.  Rich will now be facing hormone therapy and radiation.  Devastating, but if you know Rich as I do, you know he will do what is needed in order to beat this disease. 

In September, Rich needed one more scan before starting his hormone therapy.  This scan would result in a heartbreaking diagnosis of stage IV esophageal cancer with metastasis to his liver.  This discouraging news will be the biggest hurdle for us.  As we process the results, I can see color leave my man and his eyes fill with fear.  

He has spent a lifetime helping others, so today I am asking for help for Rich.  Rich is a self-employed carpenter.  I am sure that you could only imagine that after the last 9 months of MRI’s, PET/CT scans, blood work, surgery, hormone therapy, and biopsies,  Rich's ability to work and bring in any kind of income has come to a screeching halt.  I am working hard to get his medical bills covered and applying for any kind of donations that is out there.  Unfortunately, this is not enough.  

With each infusion of chemo, Rich needs to slow down so that he can recover.  Nevertheless, the bills are mounding.  Rich is a proud man and finds “asking” for help, difficult.  So I am asking for him.
