Rick Boswell’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Many of you have been following along Rick Boswell’s journey and praying with us as he has been going through a brutal health battle the last few months. On June 2nd Rick had his initial stroke caused by his Valley Fever, which was followed by life threatening abscesses, emergency life saving surgery due to Perforated Diverticulitis, more mini strokes, intubation with a ventilator in the ICU, multiple procedures to drain additional abscesses, infections requiring personalized antibiotics, many room changes and hours of physical therapy - and that’s the condensed version. While Rick is very well loved at UC Davis, we’re all very excited to get him home on August 17th!
Many people have asked how they can help. Janice has been by Rick’s side every day, and will continue to do so as he gets home, but is draining her accrued leave which is impacting her salary. They’re already starting necessary home renovations in order to make it safer for Rick, including carpet removal in 2 rooms, polishing concrete floors, and bathroom modifications. Lastly and most importantly, Rick is a fighter and he is willing to put in the work in order to improve, which includes many alternative healthcare and therapy options that aren’t covered by insurance. Any contribution donated is greatly appreciated as we support them through decreasing financial stresses and burdens.
Our family has been overwhelmed by the amount of people praying for Rick and Janice. I know they have felt every bit of the love and support as people have sent cards and messages, visited, and followed along in their journey. Please keep those prayers coming as Rick continues on his road to recovery and tackles each hurdle that comes his way - with his loving and supportive wife by his side.
Thank you for the continued love, prayers and support!
