Rick Brannon's Leukemia Treatment Fund

Donation protected
As some of you may know, my dad, Rick Brannon was diagnosed with Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia late last year.  So far, dad has been able to maintain the medical bills he has accumulated, but yesterday we got a devastating blow.  We were told in January that his insurance would cover housing for us in Seattle, however after calling to find out what we would need to do to get reimbursement from his insurance for housing yesterday, we found out that because he became Medicare, his other insurance is now a supplemental plan and will only cover what Medicare covers, which does not include housing.   Due to the CMML, dad has to have a bone marrow transplant.  We were blessed and lucky to find out my brother is a haplo match and can be his donor.  Due to covid, my dad's transplant was postponed and because of that his leukemia has progressed.  He will need intensive treatment prior to transplant and a full time caregiver (thankfully I have an amazing boss and coworkers and am going to be able to be his caregiver through the whole process).  We are set to be in Seattle for treatment starting July 9th, so the timing of the news of insurance not covering housing came as quite a shock, with no time to plan for expenses we thought we confirmed would be covered. It is required that we have housing within a 30 minute drive of SCCA for 3 to 4 weeks prior to transplant and for 100 days minimum after transplant in order for him to receive treatment.  This is due to the disease being in his blood and any complications would need immediate treatment.  The housing options that SCCA gave us are SCCA house which is roughly $100 per day and Pete Gross house which is about $2100 per month.   This cost is in addition to us having to maintain our own housing expenses so we have homes to come back to after treatment.   Dad is 61 years young and worked his whole career for the Teamsters.  He had to retire early about 2 years ago due to physical and medical limitations.  Shortly after that he went through a divorce and during the divorce was diagnosed with CMML.  My dad has worked hard his whole life and all I want is to see him healthy and happy again so he can enjoy retirement.  He has always been the first to help anyone with anything and now he is in need. Dad and my brother and I are ready to fight this battle head on, together.  Dad has been my rock my whole life and now it's time for us to be his.  Thank you in advance your support. Every amount helps. Please share with your friends so we can all support Dad/Rick in this battle. All donations will go directly to dad to help with the costs of housing and treatment. Also, thank you so much for your time in reading this and also for any prayers you can share with us during this difficult time. I will do my best to post updates here throughout treatment to keep you all updated.
