Rick Harris Memorial-Dundee PE

On September 10th, 2020 the community of Newberg lost an extraordinary man in Rick Harris. He courageously battled melanoma for four years, during which he continued to inspire others with the positivity and faith he was so well know for. Although he has moved on to be with our Heavenly Father, he will be missed and fondly remembered by many.
Rick served as a teacher in the Newberg School District for 36 years, the last 20 of which he spent as a PE teacher at Dundee Elementary. As a PE teacher at Dundee Elementary and other schools Rick provided countless fun, words of encouragement and memories for thousands of students. He supported staff, provided community and spread both kindness and love. Rick left a legacy on the school and community as he influenced so many students he served and colleagues he worked along side.
Rick's family has requested that in his memory a donation fund be set up for the Dundee PE program. The donations collected in his honor will be used to provide equipment and materials for the students at Dundee Elementary where Mr. Harris created so many great memories.
