Rick Knotek needs a Power Wheelchair and a Van

Hi, my name is Jeannette. I am raising funds for Deb and Rick Knotek, who I met through church. Rick was in a tragic tree-cutting accident in September 2019 when a massive tree crushed his spine, punctured his lungs and stomach, and gave him a closed head injury. He spent a month in a coma fighting for his life and then many more months in therapy, where he had to learn to do basic things like eat and talk. The accident left him paralyzed from the chest down due to a severed spine.

Rick currently uses a manual wheelchair which is extremely difficult because he has no core strength and limitations in his arms and shoulders. He also has to have a lot of assistance to transfer into a car and someone available to load his wheelchair in the back. Recently his wife Deb required back surgery and is now laid up for several months and unable to care for Rick. Their family and church family are assisting as much as possible; however, long-term Rick needs a power wheelchair which costs $20k - $30k and a handicapped minivan which costs around $50k for a used one and $80k for a new one. Thus far, he has been denied several medical aids that he requires, including a power wheelchair.

Rick and Deb have been through a lot these past few years, and yet they remain upbeat and continue to serve in the church. Rick enjoys playing guitar and plays on the worship team and Deb is a faithful prayer warrior. We would love to see this wonderful couple be blessed by providing the things needed to improve their quality of life. Please consider donating toward a very special gift this Christmas season.
