Rick & Lisa’s Medical & Emergency Relief

Thanks for stopping by - as many of you know, my Dad was diagnosed with stomach cancer last March 2023. After feeding tube living, chemo, surgery to remove his stomach and now in recovery, needless to say it has been a very challenging year. Unfortunately, he does not qualify for disability. He has social security and has been depending on income from his wife, Lisa, and that’s how they’re getting by…

…until last week, when Lisa had a freak accident and fell down their back porch steps. She was nearly paralyzed, and had spinal cord surgery this week to remove 3 discs and take pressure off her spine in order to be able to use her hands again. She can take steps using a walker, but needs someone to hold her up by her arms and does not currently have use of her hands. She has about 12-18 months of recovery ahead of her…and neither of them can work given their medical situations.

He would be so angry at me if he knew I was doing this GoFundMe so I can’t tell him, but I know they really need it and are running out of money. I’m trying to raise just enough to get them through the next few months for now so they can cover mortgage, gas, food, general bills, and whatever medical bills they both have (insurance and Medicare don’t cover everything, unfortunately).
