Rick Pressley and Family

We hate that we’re even sitting here having to type out something like this but on September 28, 2021 our dad, Rick Pressley, passed away from Covid-19 after an almost 2 month long fight at just 52 years old. To be honest this was really unexpected for our family. We knew our dad was always very healthy, hardly ever sick and very well fed by our mom (thank you mom), not overweight, no underlying health conditions or anything. So when we initially heard about the positive test we honestly thought he’d beat it in a few days. Days went on and he grew more tired each day as the virus began to attack his lungs making tasks harder and harder for him like showering, getting up to get a drink and eventually even talking on the phone. It was really hard for us hearing he had to be put on a CPAP (oxygen machine) then the worst happened, put on a ventilator on Aug 24th. At this point we knew it was serious. He spent almost a little over a month under anesthesia on the vent. Then we had to make the hardest decision as a family we’ve ever had to make. We decided we would let God take our dad home because we knew there would be no more pain and suffering there. We’re all very sad because we had so much more we wanted to share in life with him, we weren’t done with him. God said otherwise. We don’t understand why but hopefully one day God makes it clear as to why.

He was the kind of man who would do anything for his family. He was dependable, extremely hardworking, and always tried to make people laugh. If you knew him he was an absolute goof. He was also stubborn, but in a good way. He was the perfect dad we could’ve ever asked for. Thank you dad for always bring us to early morning practices, always showing up to our cross country and track meets, dance recitals, football & basketball games and choir concerts. Thank you for coming to every single band performance and standing right in the front supporting us both, you and mom were truly our biggest fans. Thank you for always mowing the yard (before you started making us do it) and cooking on the grill for us. Thank you for teaching us how to use tools and to fix tons of different things and to not be scared to get our hands dirty. Thank you for always taking us to church and to lunch after. Thank you for believing in our dreams and helping us both move to California. Lastly, thank you for providing and building such a beautiful home for our family that you worked so hard for. You did more than we could’ve ever asked for.

We wanted to start this page in hopes of raising money to help cover cost of the funeral expenses, medical bills and to help our mom pay some house bills while she finds a job. If you’re unable to donate for any reason at all we would love and appreciate you just the same if you could share this page in some sort of way.

With Love,
The Pressley Family
