Rick loved baseball and loved not only his kids and grandkids but all the kids in the game. Rick was a born cheerleader. No matter what was happening in the game, Rick always found something to cheer about and had a knack for picking up the kids and lifting their spirits. Rick spent countless hours on the field coaching, keeping the grounds, and becoming known for his "Sparkisms" that were a staple in every game he was at.
The Sparks family has created a scholarship in Ricks honor that will be given yearly to a North Fork Miners High School baseball player to help them pursue their college, trade school, or work dreams. Rick believed that every kid had the ability to do great things and we are honoring him by being a small part of helping a high school baseball player achieve greatness.
Please consider donating to Ricks scholarship fund to honor him and his love of the kids. The funds will be used only for a yearly scholarship. Donations can be made here, directly to the Rick Sparks Scholarship Memorial Fund at any Bank of Colorado location, or a check can me made out to the Rick Sparks Memorial Scholarship Fund and mailed to Leslie Sparks at PO Box 847 Hotchkiss, CO 81419.
