In Memory of Rick Staskowski

Hello, My Name is Erika and I am Fundraising Money for my Aunt and her son Eric Staskowski during this difficult time. Rick recently passed away on November 4th 2023 very unexpectly. Rick was walking out the front door to walk their 5 Month old puppy Willow after the passing of their previous dog (Munchkin) this past August. At that time he had fallen out the front door and down the front stoop steps and dislocated and broke his right elbow. He later had very painful surgery 2 weeks later. While recuperating at home, Rick was walking in the house and had taken a fall. Medical Staff were called to come and assist picking him up off the floor, and was taken by ambulance, while on his way to the hospital something happened that caused him to go into Cardiac Arrest; Despite the Heroic efforts from Public Safety and medical staff at Bon Secours Hospital they were unable to save him. We believe it was to be complications from the surgery that rick had, had done to his elbow. Rick left behind his wife Kimberly and his son Eric (16) who just returned home from Danville Geisinger Medical Center from his second spinal fusion surgery a few days prior to his fathers passing. Kim & Eric are left to come up with end of life expenses and to pay monthly household bills minus Rick's disability check. Rick unexpectly left his family behind with no will and no life insurance. Eric is not allowed to bend lift or twist for 3 months and is homebound 6 to 8 weeks from school. Richard & Eric were best buddies and Eric looked up to him very much. They both loved car shows, going to the Strasburg railroad, riding trains, building models together and watching tv/movies and NASCAR together all the time. Rick left Eric behind to finish rebuilding a 1979 Firebird Trans Am that they started rebuilding together.

After Ricks passing, ricks corneas went to two blind individuals who would be able to see within 48-72 hours and his bones were donated as well and they will be able to save 50 - 75 people who have cancer, Spinal fusion surgeries like Eric had, and bone graphing. Rick went on with a legacy and that is something that he would have wanted.

Any Prayers and thoughts through this difficult time are greatly appreciated. At this time there will be no service due to financial difficulties.
