Rick Tijerina Funeral Cost Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hello my name is Jennifer Tijerina and I am organizing a fundraiser for my father Richard Tijerina who recently passed away from Covid on 02/06/2022. My dad was my world, The only man in my life that I can honestly say that has been there for me no matter what. He lived with me and 4 kids for the past few years. My dad was a truck driver and he loved what he did to support his family, despite being already diagnosed with ESRD (end staged renal disease) and had already been struggling with dialysis. On January 17 2022, my dad went into the hospital with Covid 19 and also to get dialysis treatment. Within the 1-week he spent in the hospital his health declined rapidly, there was no communication with nurses or case workers despite my several attempts. By the 2nd week he was sent to a rehab on the opposite side of town. No one had made no contact with me, I had to find out myself where they had transferred him to. At that point he had already lost 43 pounds. When asking the rehab why he was transferred they told me they were treating him with IV antibiotics, despite how bad he had looked already, I knew that the medication could help, so I decided to let him stay until treatment was to be completed that following Tuesday. Wednesday February 2nd, I decided to take my dad out of the rehab because I found out that they had never been giving him the medication or the proper treatment I was told he was getting. He had already fell 3 times in 4 days and they put a mattress on the floor for him. Once we arrived home my wife and I tried to nurture him back to health, giving him the care that he deserved. Between these couple of days as we nurtured him, we saw an improvement and was hoping for better. On his last day Feb 6th 2022, I got to speak to my dad in the morning, after coming back to check on him just a little later he had already passed. My daddy was my world always making me laugh and smile, cracking jokes and just being him. He never deserved the maltreatment he got. Since this has happened so suddenly my family and I are asking for help with burial fees to lessen the burden on my family. We appreciate anything and everyone for y’all’s support on behalf of the Tijerina Family.
