Rebuild Hope for the Rickard Ohana:Lahaina Fire
Donation protected
On August 8, a merciless wildfire swept through the Lahaina community, leaving families in unprecedented devastation. Among those affected are the Rickard family, pillars of the Lahaina community for years. Scotty and Pikake Rickard, beloved members of our community, have experienced an unimaginable loss alongside many others.
The Rickard family's commitment to Lahaina runs deep. They've been unwavering supporters of Lahainaluna, Lahaina and the entire Maui community, yielding a legacy of police officers, nurses, teachers, and coaches who have served tirelessly. Now, it's our turn to rally behind them.
Tragedy struck close to home as the flames consumed the residences of not just one, but five homes on their street. The impact is immeasurable – from their son and grandchildren's homes to neighbors' houses. TJ and Makayla Rickard, Tekiri and Lance Villa, Todd and Emer Rickard, Rachel and Koa, and Teanu and Niki Rickard have all lost everything – their homes, belongings, and vehicles.
The Rickard family includes 13 adults and 6 children who find themselves at ground zero. Among them are two school-aged children and four babies, with another on the way. Teanu Rickard, who valiantly serves as a police officer, and Todd Rickard, a dedicated public worker and equipment operator who is continuously working onsite. The aftermath of the fire has left many adults unemployed.
In this time of tragedy, let's extend our support and kokua to the Rickard family. They face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. Your generous contribution will make a world of difference as they begin this arduous journey. Together, we can help them find hope and strength amid the ashes.
Every donation, no matter the size, will directly impact their ability to start anew. Let's stand together as a community and show the Rickard family that they are not alone. Your support will not only help rebuild homes, but also restore the spirit of Lahaina that they've contributed to for years.
