Rick's circle of care - stem cell transplant
Donation protected
A little bit of love goes a long way.
Our dear Rick, Jacinthe, Anais and Zach are gearing up to one of the cornerstones of Rick's cancer treatment - his stem cell transplant.
If all stays on track, the transplant will take place on July 28th. This will require strict isolation and cleaning protocols at home for 2 weeks prior and 3 weeks after the procedure. For Rick and his caregivers, these 5 weeks will be filled with trips to the hospital for treatments and tests. There can be only 2 different caregivers over the 5 weeks to reduce risks of exposure and the caregivers will have to be in isolation too.
This GoFundMe is first and foremost to support the whole family and alleviate the caregivers so they can focus on Rick's needs and have breathing space for themselves.
The main goal is to hire professional cleaning help at least 3-4 times per week to disinfect the kitchen, the fridge and the bathroom as well as all the doorknobs Rick might touch. This needs to be done daily. If there is any extra money, it will be given to Jacinthe as a fund for food delivery services or dog walking assistance for the days when we do not have any volunteers.
