When I was asked to draft a short statement about Ricky my first thought was, “How will I ever manage to encapsulate all that Ricky is, in so few words?”
Ricky Brown is one of the most loyal, hardworking, and compassionate people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He works diligently every day, as the sole provider for his family, while his wife stays home and tends to their farm. Since age thirteen, Ricky’s life’s work has been devoted to improving the living conditions and environments of those around him, working as an independent contractor; he turned fifty seven a week ago. If you have been lucky enough to have ever crossed paths with Ricky, either in your home or place of business, then I am sure you too can attest to his astounding work ethic, phenomenal character, and the sheer grit that exemplifies all that he is and stands for. Over the last decade, Ricky’s family has become apart of our family, and family always looks out for each other.
Approximately nine weeks ago Ricky was diagnosed with stage four cancer; which has now spread throughout his body. Physically, he is very weak, and currently unable to support himself. Over the past three months Ricky has spent more time in the ICU / Trauma center then he has at home. Through all of this Kelly, his wife of thirty four years, stands by his side, despite every trial seeming to introduce another new set back.
Even though the odds are stacked against him, Ricky continues to fight for every moment. But, as you can imagine, this family has fallen into a financial hardship. This page has been set up in an effort to generate both financial and emotional support for the Brown family. If you are unable to contribute financially, we would ask that anyone who reads this please share your stories about Ricky with the rest of the world, and keep this initiative moving forward.
Thank You for your support & prayers,
God bless.
