Hi my name is Ricky, and I'm looking to get some help with medical bills and some bills around the house. I'm a self employed husband that is trying to help my wife raise our Granddaughter. I've been the sole breadwinner for the family for the last 20+ years. This past summer, and I started to have fevers and night sweats. I went to see a doctor, he ran a couple of tests and came back and told me I needed a blood infusion. My red blood count was bottomed out. I was loosing blood somewhere. Had the infusion and felt like Superman for about a week. When I went back to see the doctor he ran another blood test, about 2 hours after leaving the office the doctor wanted me to go to the Emergency Room. The wife and I arrived at the hospital, checked in and within 10 minutes called me back. They immediately started running tests, urine, stool, blood and a CT scan. Thirty minutes after the tests we had 4 trauma surgeons in my room. They were straight forward with me. I have stage 4 colon cancer, and I wasn't going home today. They had me a room in no time and had me scheduled for surgery the next morning. After surgery they came in and told my wife and I that I had 3 tumors one the size of a cantaloupe at the lower side of my colon, (now I have an Ostomy bag for life), one the size of a tennis ball on the outside of my colon protruding into my bladder, (had a 1/4 of my bladder removed) and one the size of a golf ball where my large and small intestine meet. (had to remove a couple inches of large and small intestine and put them back together) During all of this surgery they found that my colon abscessed and I got infected with E-coli and Actinomyces. (I have to take antibiotics for 6 months to a year for the latter one.)
I spent 20 days in the hospital after the surgery. They couldn't get my intestines to wake up, I went 12 days without being able to eat or drink. Nothing but the yellow IV bag. I've got a ton of bills, just got the hospital bill, a couple of the follow up doctor appointments and lab work bills.

These are just the start. I have a ton of follow up appointments, checkups, pet scans, ct scans and chemotherapy. I don't know how much the injections for chemo are going to cost, or how much the port that I have to have implanted into my chest next week is going to be either.

I'm not going to be able to even think about working for 8months to a year. My wife just had both of her hips replaced. I need her here helping me. Still have all my bills at my house, and had to close my business down over a month ago. I don't have a clue what it's going to cost to get through all of this. I would love to have enough people to donate to take all this worry of my mind, but anything anyone can bless me with is more than I have now. If you feel that I'm worthy of your blessing, please share with your friends. I need all the help my family and I can get. I want to spend a lot of time with my Grandkids and especially my wife for a long time to come. Bless You All, I will keep you updated on my progress!! Thanks!!!
Update. November 3rd
Before they start Chemo they had me have a PORT inserted into my Shoulder. This thing hurts.

Update November 6th
Started Chemo Today, 4 hours of infusion. Wasn't too bad, just a long time to sit still.

Update November 12th
Well things just can't seem to go right. Back in the Hospital on November 9th. Spent 3 days there. I had a bad reaction to my Chemotherapy. It caused me to have heart spasms. When my wife got me to the ER, they rushed me in and did an EKG. said I was having a heart attack. Rushed me to the back and did all the routine things. Never seen people work so fast! really a scary feeling. After all was said and done I had no Clots or blockages, It was Chemically induced heart failure from the Chemo. My heart is working around 25-30%. Have to start going to the Heart Failure Clinic next week.

Update November 16th
Just Found out this is a tossup. The Heart Failure Clinic just told me that they don't know how long this will last. They put me on 4 more meds that they say ill have to be on for life. Because this was chemically induced they don't know how much recovery my heart will undergo. If I get to active I get lightheaded and short of breath. My medication Entresto after my insurance was still $1,900 per fill and they say I will have to be on this for life for my heart. When life throws stuff like this at you it makes you realize you just can't prepare for everything. I've had to stop my Chemo and will be doing some natural remedies. Can't chance dying by taking treatments.

Update December 14
Well I've had a couple of visits to the heart failure clinic. They have been keeping a check on the amount of water on my blood and body. They say that being in a state of heart failure that your heart and kidneys don't talk to each other correctly. I have to watch my fluid intake, not just from drinking but also fruits and vegetables. My heart not working like it should doesn't move fluids to my kidneys and therefore fluid can build up in my legs, arms and even my lungs. I get tired easily but I try to stay active. They have me on 4 heart medications and a lasix. Just routine visits for a while until February 14th(Valentines Day) the doctor wants to do a 2d echo to see if I'm gaining any more function in my heart. He joked saying we needed to check my heart on heart ❤️ day lol. I think the end of March I'm going to get to do another PET scan to see if any cancer has come back. I hope and pray the Lord will blessed me with nothing but a good report. I'll make sure to keep everyone updated to what is going on with me. Love you all!!! Thanks so far for all the sharing and reports. Getting the word out there helps alot. And to those that have given to my cause, THANK YOU!!! From the bottom of my heart. Everything helps and is the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for. I wish all of you that have taken the time to read this a Blessed and Merry Christmas!!!!
