Rico vs spatula

Donation protected
Hi, this is Jo. I've never done this before, so please be kind. In March, my 17 yr old pit/lab, Jackson, passed away after some serious medical issues. Devastated, I went to adopt a shelter dog. Slow-kill heartworm treatment is used by shelters qnd I was told it was fine, it wasnt!! the three injection treatment was needed. Off to the vet we went for a nice four figure treatment. Then I learned that her pup was adopted/fostered and returned twice. So, we got this little guy, Rico, short for Ricotta! Yes, they named her litter after Italian foods! Fast forward, Rico is now just six months old. I was stretching it with the adoption fees and Lola's heartworm treatment, but doing okay, so far... They both have a GPS tracking device on their collars, both are chipped, and so on. Monday, apparently, Rico ate the silicone tip of a spatula. I looked everywhere for it, Just came back from vet and he's having surgery Friday. Depending on what type, either in his belly, or in his intestines, it can be as high as $6-7000. He hasn't even been with me two months, so no pet insurance. I've always given, until it hurts, as my high school teacher, Sr. Mary Anne, said about donating. I am asking if you have a few dollars that you can offer up, I would be grateful. Embarassed, but grateful. Thank you. Jo
