Ride for Dignity Grey-Bruce
****UPDATE: AUGUST 2024
WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE RIDE FOR DIGNITY MUST BE POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING OF 2025. STEPH’S CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME IS VERY PROBLEMATIC AND REQUIRES AGGRESSIVE TREATMENT. RIDING A BICYCLE FOR EXTENDED DISTANCES IS VERY PAINFUL AND NOT SUSTAINABLE OVER CONSECUTIVE DAYS WHILE STEPH’S CONDITION IS IN A STATE OF HEIGHTENED INFLAMMATION. SHE IS RECEIVING PHYSIOTHERAPY BUT MUST NOT DO ANYTHING TO PREVENT HER HEALING.
THE RIDE IS RESCHEDULED FOR JUNE 16-22, 2025.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST A REFUNS FOR YOUR DONATION, YOU CAN DO SO DIRECTLY THROUGH GOFUNDME. PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR ISSUES.
WE THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO COMPLETING THE RIDE.

JOIN US IN THE CYCLE FOR DIGNITY
Ride takes place: August 22-28, 2024
Where: Niagara Escarpment, Trans Canada Trail, Niagara-on-the-Lake to Tobermory, ON.
Distance: 700 kilometres
We’re Jason and Steph of Level 5 Tiling & Renovations, operating out of Tobermory, Ontario. As some of you know, we complete a portion of the Trans Canada Trail every year on our bicycles. This journey is one of exploration: discovering hidden gems in our province; passing through small communities and meeting some amazing people; testing our minds and bodies in a feat of endurance and strength. The ride itself provides us with time to reflect and develop a greater sense of gratitude. We travel with few belongings and must weather any storm but at the end of each day, we’re privileged to have a hot shower, a change of clothing, a comfy bed, a wholesome meal, and a roof over our heads.
We’ve decided that we should use our annual journey, which grows in difficulty and distance each year, as a platform to raise awareness and funds to support those in need in these really hard times. We push our bodies and minds in an acknowledgement of the struggles that so many people are fighting today. We will grow this event each year and aim to open it for interested participants in the future!
We are very excited to announce our partnership with Safe n’ Sound emergency shelter in Owen Sound, Ontario. The staff here work tirelessly with limited resources in an uphill battle to provide access to basic services, support, and advocacy for the homeless and those who are at risk of homelessness. The shelter is also a refuge for the victims of addiction. Every human has a unique life story and we’ll never truly know what a day in another's shoes is like. Please remember: we can only respond to cries for help with empathy, non-judgement, and some practical means of helping.
This year, our journey will follow the Niagara Escarpment, from Niagara-on-the-Lake to our home in Tobermory. Prior to our departure and during our travels, we will be raising awareness for this cause. Monetary donations will be put towards life-saving, high-priority items for the shelter. We will be making a stop at Safe n’ Sound on the second-last day of our journey to see the staff and community members at their annual summer BBQ.
We are asking all friends, neighbours, colleagues, clients, community members in the Grey Bruce County, and local businesses to make a donation of any amount. A receipt for your tax-deductible donation may be provided upon request.
We thank you for your support as we take this idea and evolve it over time and we thank Safe n’ Sound for doing what they do.
