Ride for Relief- Barre Community Relief Fund
Donation protected
My name is Greg Jancaitis and I live in Barre Town. On July 10th, Barre City like many communities in Vermont was devastated by historic flooding. Numerous businesses and households sustained flood damage that will require weeks and months to recover from. As part of the recovery efforts the Barre Community Relief Fund, a non-profit 503(c) organization, was established to assist those in need. I'm setting up this fundraising event to support these efforts.
How am I trying to help?
The one big cycling event I had planned for this summer was to ride the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail from end to end...and maybe back (but that's a story for another day). With the LVRT also being devastated I pivoted and signed up to race solo at the Moat Mountain 24 Hours of Great Glen. I've always been conscious of how time-consuming these events are, and I believe it's right to try to associate some good coming from doing an event like this. While the 24 Hours of Great Glen is not necessarily a fundraising event, I'm going to treat it like one and ask that you consider donating to the Barre Community Relief Fund as part of my fundraising efforts. I'm setting an initial fundraising goal of $500 and would love to have your support in raising funds and awareness of the need as Barre recovers from this historic flooding event.

Thank you for all of your support!
