Ride 4 Girl Child 2021
Florence Naduk is born and raised in Uganda's armed-conflict and poverty prone Karamoja sub-region. As young mother she got a chance of education that changed her future and that of many others.
Today, early forced marriages, out village migration and child labour continue to deprive many girls of a better future. Florence offers willing girls an opportunity through skilling at Matany Girls Vocational School.
Florence lived with her family in The Netherlands for 20 years and came back to Karamoja in 2004 to fulfil her dream to give back to her community through girl child education.
After 15 years of tireless fundraising by well-wishers and friends, Florence Naduk has realised her dream and opened the first vocational school for girls in northeast Uganda.
Today, the school offers a conducive and safe learning environment to skill and empower vulnerable girls.
All courses focus on providing trainees with vocational skills and life skills in order to prepare them for the labor market and/or to create their own employment, enabling them to effectively contribute to the wellbeing of their communities.
As a girl child, Florence got a life changing opportunity of education through a scholarship. She hopes to enable more girls to end the poverty cycle in their communities through offering scholarships to the financially unable but self-motivated and willing girls.
Educate a girl for a fully catered vocational training course at MAGVS for €500 and help to change the world.
"Florence's dream is to lift the region out of poverty through empowering girls through skilling. "
