The Ramps at Memorial Park

We're building ramps in Beacon!

After years without a place to ride in Beacon, a small group of dedicated volunteers have partnered with the City of Beacon Parks and Recreation department to bring a skatepark back to Beacon.

We are now ready to fundraise and begin to turn the dream into a reality. Let's build a park together!

How
Good 'ol fashioned community engagement.

The City has provided the space, we're going to provide the park.

The Ramps at Memorial Park (aka The R.A.M.P.) is a lasting feature we wish for the city and it's inhabitants to enjoy for many years to come. Phase I, this initial phase, has a simple goal: Keep it Simple and Achievable.

In Phase I, we will create the building blocks of this park. The plan is to design popular, semi-movable features. By starting here, we can achieve two of our goals at once: open the park, and allow for room to grow. As we ride, certain features may be repositioned as we continue to add new features and learn the park's flow over time.

We have large plans for this park - including massive permanent features and the potential of hosting demos/competitions in the City. But to get there, we must start at the ground level. So we're rolling up our sleeves and building the park together as a community.

First things first, let's get riding again. Join us by contributing today.

Funds collected through this page will be directly allocated to the materials and tools for the park. We have no overhead or administrative costs. Our design team is currently at work modeling the potential features for this initial build. We're talking 3.5 ft and 6-8 ft quarters, manual grind boxes at various lengths and heights and a couple of banks to start.

Your contribution will help us to purchase materials and tools for the first construction and install phase.

Purchasing is expected to occur in March 2018, with the initial construction and installations planned for as early as April. Our budget will be scalable depending on the community's involvement in the project - so let's set up the future with a strong initial build.

For this to truly be a community park, we want to invite you and your friends to join in the fun as we build the park together (under professional supervision).

Volunteers: Please contact [email redacted] and we'll be sure to keep you in the loop when we enter the building phase.

Grab your bike/board/scooter, strap on that helmet, and we'll see you at the park!
