Help Make Dungog World-Class
Donation protected
We'll get right to the point, we're asking for your financial support to help fund the sustainable design, community consultation process and construction of two more purpose-built trails at the Dungog Common. The goal of this campaign is to raise $65,000 to help make the Dungog region a world-class biking destination.
World-class is defined as one of the best in the world. Yes, we know, that is a lofty vision, but the ingredients are all here to make it possible, and we need our community to join us and help us make it happen.
We have an awesome vision, backed by a strategic plan, but we need your help. This is a long-term project, which will require a lot of capital and community engagement, but big ideas are built from the ground-up and by raising $65,000 from our community we can design, consult and construct two more world-class trails at the Dungog Common and take one more step towards our long-term goal. 100% of raised funds will be allocated to the sustainable design, community consultation process and the construction of a purpose-built blue flow track and a purpose-built green climbing track.
We are Ride Dungog and we are a non-profit incorporated association (INC1800304) committed to the vision of Dungog becoming a world-class biking destination. Earlier this year, with funding from Dungog Regional Tourism, Eastcoast Mountain Trails designed and constructed two world-class flow tracks on the 650-acre Dungog Common - a communal reserve on the western edge of town. Within days hundreds of people were descending on Dungog to ride the tracks and support the local economy. Cars across town were loaded with bikes and the feedback was mind-blowing. ABC News was quick to cover the action.
We now want to invite our community to join in the creation of a world-class biking destination and contribute to the design and development of two more purpose-built tracks.

Why do we want the Dungog region to be a world-class destination?
There are many reasons, including the physical health, mental health and social benefits for the local community, and wider region, but specifically here's where our passions lie;
Our Youth:
We are passionate about engaging, encouraging and inspiring our youth. We want them outside, moving their bodies, being a part of something bigger than themselves and being proud of their community. We want to see them working in bike shops, guiding bike tours, brewing coffees, waiting tables - engaged, employed and contributing. We don't expect everyone in the region to enjoy bike riding, but we do believe if the Dungog region becomes an exceptional place to bike (mountain, gravel and road) then other exciting opportunities will develop and our youth will have a greater opportunity of finding their spark. The art and music culture will increasingly emerge and job opportunities will arise in all sorts of areas such as washing bikes, shuttling visitors, cleaning hotels, mowing lawns.
Let's invest in the next generation and enjoy the benefits of a thriving regional community.

Our Local Economy
We want to support local businesses, provide more opportunities for local employment, encourage new industries into the region, and inspire entrepreneurial activity. Since the opening of the first flow track Dungog has experienced an increase of up to 300 percent in local trade. Coffee shops are full, the brewery is crafting more beer and new enterprises have opened their doors, including a bike shop and custom frame workshop. This means in the future people won't have to leave Dungog to find employment opportunities, this means more kids in our local schools, and more members of our community investing their time in other local initiatives.
Let's invest in local businesses and local opportunities.

Our Natural Environment
If we want people to value and protect nature, they must first be given the chance to connect deeply with it. By designing and developing environmentally sustainable trails we are providing opportunities for people to connect and value the natural environment as well as contribute to the sustainable management of the land through trails that address erosion control and weed management. World-class trails on Crown Land Reserves, State Forests, and National Parks will provide a connection to our natural world for our growing population and inspire us to see the economic and social opportunities in our natural environment.
Let's invest in our natural environment and protect it for the future.

Where is Dungog?
Dungog is a charming country town, known for its picturesque natural beauty, only an hour north of Newcastle and two and a half hours north of Sydney. With a train station on the Sydney - Brisbane line and an airport within a 50 minute drive, Dungog is well connected to be a world-class destination. We also have a hospital, which is another ingredient to our world-class mixing bowl.
