Rider Safety

Over the last few years in Canada we have had several riders experience serious crashes resulting in no changes or adjustments to track safety. After creating several funds to improve safety and seeing no progression, it was decided that action needed to be taken immediately in order to proceed with these improvements. After a few discussions, amongst a group of us, we decided this may be the best method to help ourselves.

These funds will be used to purchase foam blocks and air fence. We will also need a container (or multiple) to store the foam block.

We are currently in discussion with Alpina; 20 units of A-Type barrier (foam block) can fit in a container. They are currently experiencing a 3-4 month delay in production, and shipping was $11,000. We would need around $35,000, which was our last quote for 20 units (or 140 feet) of foam barrier and storage. Air Fence units were earlier quoted at $10,000 for 25 foot sections.

These prices change regularly, and making changes to track safety is now our responsibility. WE need to raise funds and help ourselves.

If we can raise these funds we will use extra funds to set up a program to continue and pay for set up and transport of the units.

The first track we wish to focus on is Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, but all tracks will benefit if we have funding.

The funds will have advisors and people to help with accountability and administration.
