Riding for Life- Mongolian Derby 2023
Donation protected
Hello all,
Let me start at the beginning,
Who? 3 mad Kenyan girls, Chyulu Francombe, Keren Dunn and Aisha Gross.
How? Full disclosure jaeger bombs were involved
What? We are attempting (This being a keyword) to compete in the Mongolian Derby 2023 all to raise money and awareness for two charities very close to our hearts: The Samburu Trust and Steppe & Hoof. The Mongolian Derby is a 1000km horse race which, if all goes to plan, should take us ten days or less.
Why? The Samburu Trust is a non-profit that’s mission is to protect and secure the future of the Samburu people and their land through education, conservation, healthcare, water supply, women’s opportunities, and eco-tourism.
Steppe & Hoof is a non-profit organisation to help Mongolian herders and their livestock.
So how can you help? All three of us are paying our own entrance fee. However, we would love your help raising money for these fantastic charities that do so much for so many.
I know those who know what happens when the three of us get together will probably be thinking now, how in the world are these three going to survive such a massive challenge? Well, we have thought through everything: we each have got a job to help the team; Chyulu's job during the race is to make sure we are always on time; it might be a first for her; however, we have complete faith it's something she will embrace. Keren's job is to run after lost horses, returning them to the others. Aisha's job is to keep team spirits up all the time; this may even involve a solo performance from Rosy and the nightmares in the depths of Mongolia.
