Riding for MMIW

The past several months I’ve been organizing and leading a cross continent community of female motorcyclists, mostly Native American women, but not exclusivity. In our weekly calls I was hearing stories of Indigenous women and children who’d gone missing or murdered.

Native women experience violence and murder at 4-10x the national rate. These are our First Nation mothers and sisters and daughters. More than 5,700 women have gone missing in the last 4 decades in the United States, that’s 1 indigenous woman going missing from her family every 3 days with little accountability and 1 Native woman gone missing every 2.6 days in Canada.

This ride is one part Memorial, one part Awareness, and 100% Prayer to ride the route of a medicine wheel and infuse prayer on the continent of North America. We will be carrying #tobacco in from the four directions and meeting in Topeka, Kansas for the #womensfreedomride to meet up with a larger group of women who are attempting to break the world record of most female motorcyclists in 1 location. My sisters and I will be offering a bike blessing at that time. If you are moved by this and want to join for any part of the ride message me asap. At every stop we will be leaving prayer, education and safety information to seed a pivotal moment of survival, healing, inspiration and hope. 

Monies donated to our cause will be used to create a documentary exhibit that continues the awareness campaign,  create education pieces for families at risk and the public,  create a non-profit organization to continue our work, and provide assistance to organizations that have their feet on the ground doing the work to bring justice for women and families directly affected. #MMIW
