Rie runs for Lao Friends Hospital for Children
Tax deductible
Running a full marathon has always been on my bucket list, but I didn't think I would be running it in one of the most difficult countries for running (Singapore's humidity is crazy!) I'll be running the Singapore Standard Chartered marathon on Dec 4th.
As many of you know, I worked at Lao Friends Hospital for Children in Luang Prabang, Laos. LFHC is the only pediatric hospital in Northern Laos and only hospital providing free medical care. They treat around 30,000 children per year, many of whom would not have been able to afford treatment or the level of care provided at LFHC.
My goal is to raise $3,500 and I pledge to personally donate 50% of the total amount raised by December 11th! If forcing me to run 42km on my own wasn't an incentive enough. (Updated the amount from $2,000 since we have already reached it!! Thank you!!)
Your donation supports:
$25: Covers the cost of a resuscitation device to save an infant's life
$50: Provides vitamin B1 injections for 100 infants to prevent Beri Beri caused by malnutrition
$100: Provides food for 800 children and their mothers during hospitalization
This organization is very close to my heart and having worked there, I can say that the funds will go directly to help patients.
Thank you all for your support!
