Help Riker the dog after being hit by a truck

Dear friends and animal lovers,

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. Riker, a dog that holds a special place in my heart, was hit by a speeding truck and has suffered severe injuries including two shattered front legs and a rear leg with completely torn ligaments.

Riker's owner, Elise, is hesitant to ask for help, but I cannot bear to see Riker and her family suffer. I am determined to do everything in my power to help him. Elise is both a local Kansas City professional artist and devoted mother. She simply doesn’t have the means to cover the necessary surgeries required to avoid euthanasia.

Riker is not just a pet, he is a beloved member of their family, and he provides companionship and support to Elise and her children: Peregrine, Simon, and Malachi. Her son, Simon, has a particularly special bond with him as a support dog.

The good news is that Riker's injuries are completely survivable with surgery. However, the surgery comes at a high cost and Elise is struggling to cover the expenses. The estimate as of now is $21,000 in addition to the $4,000 ER bill she has already paid. That's why I have created this GoFundMe campaign to ask for your help in raising the necessary funds for Riker's surgery.
