Riley and his Family

Hi! We are Melissa Slashinsky and Tamara Pitman and we are wanting to help Riley and his family as he under goes his 4th Heart surgery

A little bit about Riley and his Heart Condition:

His condition is Pulmonary Atresia with VSD and MAPCAS. He was born without a Pulmonary valve, large hole in heart and Pulmonary arteries not developed and in wrong place. Plus his body made little veins that carried blood from heart to lungs. At 2 months had 1st surgery to put in stint, at 8 months they did repair. Repaired Pulmonary arteries, closed hole, clipped off the extra little veins and put In a conduit tube to be the Pulmonary valve. At 7 years they replaced the conduit and now 7 years later they have to replace the conduit again. Hopefully this one will last 9-12 years

Riley was scheduled for his 4 heart surgery on August 2nd, this ended up being delayed due to staff shortages in the ICU to August 9th, which has been delayed again until August 24th. They were able to fly home after the surgery was cancelled on August 9th and will fly back to Edmonton on August 23rd. Riley and his family are praying the surgery doesn’t get canceled again on August 24th

Please note that Manitoba health pays the flights and hotel, but there is extra expenses that they don’t cover like wages and added expenses that they will have to pay.
