Riley Needs A Partial Liver Lobectomy
Donation protected
Update: Riley's surgery is scheduled for August 10th!
I adopted Riley from the English Shepherd National Rescue, five years ago and she has been the center of my world ever since. She is 11 now, and aside from some hypothyroidism, is doing well.
A few weeks ago she had routine bloodwork done and her liver enzymes are were elevated. Next we did an abdominal ultrasound and found a large, mildly cavitated, right sided liver mass. Aspirates of the mass were inconclusive.
The good news is she is currently doing well and if we remove the mass, she is likely to make a full recovery. The bad news is she will need a CT, a partial liver lobectomy and a few days in hospital to recover. The estimate for this is 6k-8k.
I have already secured some funding, including from her amazing rescue, as well as my employee discount from North Carolina State University, where the surgery will be performed. However, I unfortunately cannot pay for it all myself, so I am asking for help so Riley can have a few more years.
Thank you for reading our story, and donating if you can.
