Rilyn's Going for the Cure!

Rilyn is an 11 year-old with a chronic, rare disease. She's had 13 surgeries, has chronic lung collapse and lung damage, chronic sinus, ear, spleen and GI issues and she has an increased risk of developing lymphoma. She lives in Wisconsin and travels to Maryland to the National Institute of Health every 6 months for treatment.

A possible cure was discovered and she will be the first child in the world to take it. Rilyn and her mom will be staying in Maryland for 30 days because Rilyn will need to be monitored closely and frequently. After coming back to Wisconsin, they will go to Maryland again once per month for a few months and then every three months for a year.
