Support Ringo and family in his final stages of cancer
Donation protected
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read this GoFundMe page.
My name is Claire and we have set this up to support Ringo ( Michael ) Drover and his immediate family who are struggling greatly at this time. Ringo is suffering from an inoperable brain tumour.
Ringo is a beloved father, uncle, brother, grandson and nephew to many, and to everyone who has been blessed to meet and spend time with him, a friend to all.
Ringo is a 26 year old First Nations Arrernte man from Alice Springs, growing up in the Town camp of Hidden Valley. Ringo was the child who always had a smile on his face, no matter what was happening. The incredible joy and love he brings to so many can’t be captured in words, nothing seems enough to explain what a great young man he truely is.
Ringo’s two greatest loves in his life are his family and AFL football- Go West Coast Eagles !
It was a rare sight to see Ringo without a football under his arm as he grew up.
As a young child he attended Bradshaw Primary School in the Irrkerlantye Unit, we were a family in that unit and Ringo was at the centre of it all. Then he was one of the first group of young people to head to Boarding School in SA at the Wiltja Residential College. Again, he was greatly loved there by all, and celebrated at his graduation for his accomplishments. His family were so proud.
As Ringo has grown into a young man, he has proven to be an incredible role model for not only his own family, but all who have met him. He was always the one to encourage his sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews to stay in school, play sport, get the part time jobs. He has been the rock in the Drover family.
But sadly in 2020 Ringo was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. He has fought one hell of a good fight, enduring several rounds of radiation and chemotherapy.
Radiation seemed to slow that tumour down for quite sometime, and hope was there for us all. But again in August of 2023 the news came that the tumour was once again growing and this time couldn’t be stopped.
Ringo has continued to fight, wanting desperately to have as much time with his close family and more recently his young son Don as possible.
We are looking to raise money to support Ringo and his sisters, who are caring for him and his family who have been his constant support over this challenging time.
Funds raised will go to helping Ringo and his family have the means to make memories in this final period of time together and have the financial freedom to support family outings and events and then for final wishes and arrangements to be made.
Any funds left over, will be placed into a savings account for his young son Don.
We ask you to please support Ringo and the Drover family and to please share this with your wider networks. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
