Rio Del Mar Revitalization Mural Fundraiser
Donation protected
Local muralist Taylor Reinhold of the Made Fresh Crew, and the Project Director behind Sea Walls Santa Cruz, is transforming the prominent north wall on Venus Pie Trap.
With the help of two other local artists, Scotty Greathouse and Casey Landaker, the mural hopes to bring some life back to the area that was hit hard by massive storms earlier in 2023.
We’re excited to announce that the new Rio Flats Mural is almost complete. This project was a proud partnership between Nisene Rio Gateway (NRG) and County Park Friends, raising over $13,000 from donors to commission muralist Taylor Reinhold and the Made Fresh Crew.
The mural overlooks a County Parklet along the Rio Flats Esplanade and showcases Aptos’ interconnected ecosystems. This large splash of color celebrates a resilient community hit hard by an unprecedented season of storms.
Due to storm delays and material increases, the artists have incurred additional costs.
The mural address is at 113 Esplanade, Aptos, CA 95003 on the backside of Venus Pie Trap. The adjoining open space is owned by County Parks.
Production started on April 24th and will continue for the next week. Stop by and see the mural in progress!
Please share or donate if you can.
