RIP Jose Banales

José Báñales had such a big heart. He never had kids of his own but treated all of the kids at Center Ring Boxing, as his own. He founded Center Ring Boxing almost thirty years ago as a place where inner city kids could learn the sport of boxing. Jose’s vision of the gym was a place for the youth to belong and to stay out of trouble. 

On August 6, 2020, José passed away, leaving all who loved him with heavy hearts. He was an incredible support for his mother, Yolanda Báñales, and did everything he could to care for her.
