RIP WISH

I can't begin to describe the immense sadness I feel when I tell you that the darkest bar you ever set foot in will become even darker... forever.
You may remember WISH for the never a cover house music played by our amazing resident DJs over the years.
I remember...
all the times I forgot to hand you your guinness. The lucky ones who stayed to blow out the candles and wipe down all the tables at the end of night. Shots. Folsom Street Fair madness. City Lights and BMW crew. Popcorn everywhere. Shots. Holy Cow spillover. Cucumber Gimlets. The man, the myth, the conspiracy theorist aka the best goddamn door guy you ever did meet, Walid. A plethora of funny shirts. A ridiculously cheap happy hour. Shots. Trying to make my way to the bathroom through a packed crowd on the tiniest dancefloor. Waiting in line for said bathroom. WISH Wednesdays. Fishnet Fridays. Speed dating. The BEST regulars. Putting a candle on your birthday shots. Not being able to hear anything. Not being able to see anything. Wondering where Anya was. Shots. The photobooth. Making you laugh. Loving my job. Loving my co-workers. Loving all of you.
It has been a difficult time for all of us but knowing we won't have WISH to go back to when all of this is over is disheartening to say the least.
I wanted to give all of you the opportunity to tip your favorite bartenders one last time. We love you and miss you and I promise to give updates when we all find jobs again. Be safe, be kind and don't forget to vote. Until then...
Thank you SO much and hey, cheers guys!
To me, WISH was an absolute dream. What was WISH to you?
