He is the Son of T. & Misty Strong & he has 3 Siblings who can't wait to meet him! Reid age 9, Italee age 4, & Ridge age 3. A little about Ripp's Journey Born into the world on May 12th 2023 & Straight to NICU @ St Francis, His glucose # was a 5, he Should have been either in a coma or worse, due to his number being so low! We were hoping for what he has to be just Transitional Hypoglycemia, but we believe it now to be Congenital hyperinsulinism (HI) is a genetic disorder in which the insulin cells of the pancreas, called beta cells, secrete too much insulin. We still r waiting on many Genetic Testing to come back and other labs. He stayed at our Home Hospital for 10 Days & then was AirLifted to Our Lady of the Lakes Children's Hospital in Baton Rouge, La. Stayed for 5 Days then Flown to Cooks Children's Hospital in Ft Worth, Texas. Where Dr. Thornton will take over his case from here! New Medication started called Glucagon, it is used to treat low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) caused by hyperinsulinism. It works by blocking the release of insulin from the pancreas.
