RISD's Rover goes to NASA
Donation protected
We are a group of passionate students from the Rhode Island School of Design who design, make and race our very own human-powered machine to compete in the annual NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge .
The RISD Rover Club features a diverse team; bringing together students from across multiple disciplines, from freshman to seniors to learn and make (and have a blast!) together.
Last year, the team placed second and won the featherweight award, which was given to the lightest rover in the division. This year, we're looking to build on that success when we return to the Space and Rocket Center.
As you can see, we are well underway designing and making the rover, but we still need your help!
From September to April, our team together, pours in thousands of hours designing and making this wonderfully complex contraption and we would love to be able to send each and evey single hard-working member down to the race, which takes place in Huntsville, AL.
The funds from this campaign will go towards an all-new rover, which will be designed and built around the same requirements laid out by NASA, and also contribute to the travel funds for our members to see and experience, in person, the rewards of their hard work.
We would be grateful for any contributions you can make, and every dollar will be appreciated!
