Rising from the Sandy Ground

Sandy Ground is the oldest, continuously inhabited free black settlement in the United States of America and is a recognized stop on the underground railroad. Seeing as this rich history should be known and taught not just across Staten Island but across the City, State, and the country. Please help the Young Leaders Of Staten Island support the living history that has affected not only all our lives, but future generations to come. Please feel free to donate any resources that you can and know that your contribution, either great or small, will help preserve and spread the rich history of Sandy Ground to those near and abroad.
