Rising from the Ashes: Help our Hospital Heroes Rebuild

Historic fires ravaging throughout southern California have permanently affected the lives of so many families, futures and homes. Those families affected are the precious lives of several healthcare workers and their loved ones who work at our local community hospital. The hospital at USC Verdugo Hills have staff whose lives are now shattered when they found out the very homes they opened for others are the same homes that have burned to the ground. Imaging if you will, watching your home, engulfed in flames, from photos and videos sent to you by others while you remain helpless as you focus on caring for others who are in the very same position that you find yourself in now.

These hospital staff, who, over the years, have been caring for the sick, comforting families in their time of need, and giving everything they have to make a difference to those in our community need our help. However large or small this effort becomes; they deserve our help.

As more and more people are made known who have lost their homes, the need to help is our time to answer the call. Now, in their time of crisis, should they feel the support and love from those around them.

The goal is simple: to help these hospital staff who help others and expect nothing in return, get back on their feet. These selfless employees, healthcare workers and their families, are looking to rebuild from the bottom up. These funds would provide necessary relief, temporary housing, clothes, food, toys, and other essentials as well as long-term support to help these families get back on their feet. Each and every dollar contributed by you will touch their lives. The burden of losing so much in such a devastating fashion can be lightened with the support garnered by us all. These people have given so much to this community. We owe it to them to show why we support each other. It is now time to return the same support to the people who give their all to this community and the families who live here. In their most vulnerable moments, we can help lift them up as we are called to do: to stand together and hold each other up.
