Rita Erne Covid-19 Recovery

On March 17th our sister Rita Erne became sick and was eventually diagnosed with COVID-19. She subsequently was admitted to Parkview Hospital on March 28th and spent two weeks in the ICU on a ventilator and then two additional weeks in a rehabilitation center as a result of this disease and partial amputation of her right leg. Needless to say this has been an incredibly scary and overwhelming time.
On top of these heath challenges, Rita is now faced with a few financial obstacles:
- Medical Bills: Some of her anticipated medical bills associated with prosthesis and therapy may not be covered by insurance
- Time off Work: She will be out of work for an extended period of time as she awaits her prosthetic leg
- New Normal: She will now be adjusting her home to account for her new reality
In the midst of this our family has been moved by the amount of amazing people, like you, who have reached out asking how you can help.
