Rita Yolanda Gongora
Rita is a 69-year-old Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grandmother and Greatgrandmother. Over the years, Rita has had a lot of health concerns but has always managed to stay strong and has overcome death many times. Unfortunately, on July 28th, 2022, Rita suffered a stroke that led to a brain hemorrhage, which led to brain damage. Rita was in the Intensive Care Unit for seven days; doctors then informed Rita's family that there was no coming back from this, and she was transported into hospice care so that Rita can be as comfortable as she can be until her final days. Family and friends have a heavy heart with obtaining this information, as Rita was loved by everyone that was encountered by her. Along with this comes a financial burden, and Rita's friends and family are asking for any possible donations that can be made for burial arrangements. Rita does have life insurance; however it does take a lengthy amount of time for that process to start kicking in. Her friends and family need to come up with a deposit now for the total cost of the funeral when it is her time, which doctors give about a week or two. Absolutely anything helps and is greatly appreciated.
About Rita and her life
Rita is a beautiful individual inside and out and always looked at the brighter side of things. Ever since her younger days, she went through alot and would tell stories to her children and grandchildren.
Rita and her siblings struggled when they were younger and tried their best to help their single mother with basic needs. Rita also never knew her father and found it hard to accept most of her life but would eventually come to terms with it. Although she went through a lot throughout her youth, she went on to live her life, get married, and have four children; two boys and two girls. Rita ended up getting a divorce, but that did not stop her from taking care of her children and ensuring they were taken care of. Instead, it drove her to work even harder.
Around Rita's early 30’s , Rita suffered from a major stroke that caused her left side to become weak, and not be as mobile as she once was. She also had type 2 diabetes and would have to monitor that daily and if not kept up, would cause lack of energy and sometimes a concern of vital signs, but for the most part did a good job of keeping that maintained.
Her children then had to take responsibility and take care of their mother. Eventually her children grew up and had kids of their own, leaving Rita to have 15 + grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. When she would babysit her grandchildren, she would even put her health concerns aside (even if she was tired) and try to take them out, either to the park, to go get something to eat, a local tourist attraction, or to take them to the swimming pool. Even a simple bus ride because that was one of her grandchildrens favorite thing to do, was pull the yellow string on the bus for their stop. She took a lot of pride in her grandkids, and would tell EVERYONE anywhere, any chance she could get.
Rita then had to face another obstacle in life and had to bury her son, who also faced health concerns and passed away. Even after that, Rita would still look at the brighter side of things. Her energy is beautiful one and it captivated everyone around her. Her story will live on and be told through her children and their children, and even their children.
