Rivary's Life Start Fund

Hey there Theydies and Gentlethems! For those who don’t know, we are Gary and Rebecca (colloquially known as Rivie, and collectively known as Rivary) and we are getting married NEXT MONTH! It’s a bit surreal to both of us, as neither of us really expected that would be something we as individuals would happen. And let us tell you, it took a pretty EPIC cosmic chain of events to lead us to each other.

We have both been through a lot in our individual lives and have spent the last chunk of years painstakingly reassembling ourselves. Before we got together, we had individually hit our threshold for tolerance of our struggles. We each had a suicide attempt that left us in a coma and with a long road to recovery. Somehow, though, despite the heartache and challenges, with the steadfast support of our amazing community of friends and family, we clawed our way back into living.

And then we fell in love! The things we have been through on our own, and the work we have done to process and integrate our experiences, ended up making us really rather perfect (in the way that our imperfections are well matched) together.

So with Rebecca’s birthday and the nuptials upcoming, we set up this fundraiser to help us get ourselves established. Moving is expensive, especially internationally! We have pretty much all the “stuff” we need, but we do need a place for the “stuff” we have! So in lieu of birthday and wedding gifts, we are hoping our community will contribute to the “setting up fund” – and, the economy being what it is, we totally get that contributing may not be possible, in which case we’d very appreciate a link share for the gofundme!
