Supporting Riven
Donation protected
On May 1st Andy Adams and his 9 year old son, Riven, were headed home on their Ranger (ATV) and were rear ended by a truck, causing life threatening injuries. Both were airlifted to Pensacola. Andy is making a recovery from his broken bones and brain injury at home. Riven’s medical journey has lead him to two Florida hospitals and now to Birmingham for an intensive and long rehabilitation. He suffered from a spinal injury that presently causes loss of movement and sensation from the chest down. He also has undergone pelvic and bladder surgery. His mother, Bronwyn Bell Adams, remains with him every moment as the medical team tends to the challenges that Riven is enduring. Beyond the physical and emotional challenges, this has caused the family a significant financial burden. If you are compelled and able, please help the Adams family with a donation to cover travel, lodging, medical expenses and loss of income. Also appreciated are gifts of love and prayer.
I wanted to add a little about myself since I am the coordinator for this campaign. Like the Adam's family I am also from Andalusia and many years ago moved to Prattville Alabama. I am cousin to Brownyn, Riven and the other boys. Bronwyn, Riven's mother, is someone I looked up to as a child and a hero for me as an adult. As far as the state of Riven's health, she gives our family updates every few days and when there are major changes. The funds that have been donated will be withdrawn and given directly to the Adam's family. There will have to be major adjustments made to their living situation to accomodate Riven's new physical challenges. He will also have an long period of physcial therapy that will involve traveling several hours from Andulsia two times a week or more.
