Our family is creating this fundraiser to support 19-year-old college student River Blair, who was recently arrested in connection with the alleged vandalism of Flock cameras in several Jacksonville Beaches communities. This has been an incredibly difficult time, and our goal is simply to make sure River has the legal representation every young person deserves as he navigates the justice system. Please note, this is the only fundraising campaign authorized by River and his family. Any other fundraising campaigns in his name are not legitimate.

Anyone who knows River knows he is a kind, thoughtful, and compassionate young man. From an early age, he has been the kind of person who stands up for those he believes have been treated unfairly. He has a genuinely caring and sensitive nature, which has been demonstrated throughout his life.

River has never before faced criminal charges or been involved in the legal system. He now finds himself navigating an overwhelming and complex legal process with potentially life-changing consequences. Like every person accused of a crime, he is entitled to due process and competent legal representation.

While the legal process will determine the facts of this case, our goal as his family is simple: to ensure that River has access to the best legal defense possible so that his rights are protected and his case is heard fairly. The funds raised through this campaign will be used solely for legal expenses, including attorney fees, expert consultation if needed, and other costs directly related to his defense.

This case has sparked strong opinions about Flock cameras and the balance between public safety and personal privacy. People have understandably passionate views on both sides of that conversation. Regardless of those differing opinions, we believe River deserves the same thing everyone deserves: a fair legal process and the opportunity to be represented by qualified counsel.

River has his whole life ahead of him. Like many young adults, he is still learning, growing, and finding his place in the world.
