Riverdale Baptist Mission Trip to Canovanas, PR

Dear Friends and Families,

My name is Victoria Simmons and I am a Junior at Riverdale Baptist School. I am a part of the Bible study group and Missions Club and I also serve as the Secretary of the Junior Class. I will be joining several of my peers in serving needy families in Puerto Rico (PR) this Spring. During my Easter Break, April 9-15, 2022, we will be in Canovanas, PR serving with a local Baptist Church (Primera Bautista Iglesias de Peniel).

I would like to serve in this way because I have been seeking ways to expand my missions/volunteer experience. I hope to learn different ways to share the love of Christ in a real way. I believe I am prepared for this opportunity because of the many times that I have worked with people and shared the gospel through works and not just words. For example, the time I’ve spent participating in the Awana club (a youth Bible Study that I began attending as a 3 year old) has shaped my character and taught me new ways to interact with believers, nonbelievers, and people who are simply in need. I also volunteer each first Sunday to pack lunches for the homeless with my church and through my school.

As a member of the mission team, we are each responsible to raise the funds for the trip. This includes airfare, ground transportation, mission supplies as well as housing and meals. The total cost per person is $1,500. I am asking you to prayerfully support our efforts with a monetary donation. I appreciate your support and your prayers as I walk through this journey.
