RJ Longstreet 5th Grade Field Trip

Hi Everyone,

I've started this Go Fund Me page for our RJ Longstreet 5th grade class. Each year, it's been tradition that the 5th-grade class gets a large portion of their BIG end of year, end of RJ Longstreet career, field trip funded. Until this year, this trip has been well funded. However, some changes in funding have recently been brought to light and now there is a chance the cost to the kids for their trip to Sea World could increase.

As you may or may not know, RJ Longstreet is a Title 1 school. This means our school has a very high concentration of our kids at poverty level. So, many of the kids that attend RJL absolutely cannot afford to pay for this special, traditional trip that, in years past, has been better funded.

I have two goals. My first goal is for the kids that would have to miss out because they do not have the means to join their classmates. I would love to, at a minimum, raise enough money to get their entry fee covered. My second goal is that ALL 5th graders get their trip funded. This trip is so special to 5th-grade. Many of these kids have been at RJ Longstreet since Kindergarten and have looked forward to their big 5th-grade, final year at Longstreet, trip to Sea World.

Any amount would be incredible and I, as well as the 5th-grade teachers, and especially the 5th-grade students, would be so grateful. If we are lucky enough to meet our goal, these kids will have their 5th-grade trip to remember and ALL 5th graders can attend and no one will be left behind. If we exceed our goal, that money will be dispursed to the 5th-grade teachers for their classroom needs.
