Help RJ get a Power Wheelchair for Med School
Donation protected
Hi my name is RJ and I am fundraising for needed adaptive equipment that will help me live with greater independence and continue my physical rehab goals.
In June 2021, at age 21, I was injured roller skating and developed severe impairment in both my legs making me reliant on a wheelchair for everyday tasks. From the hips down, I have muscle/leg spasms, severe joint instability, change in sensation, pain, and reduced muscle power.
I am a medical student in the class of 2027, hoping to pursue a career in family medicine, emergency medicine, or neurology.
This fund is to support purchasing a standing power wheelchair which will allow me to stand and move around at OR tables, anatomy labs, and reposition for adapting clinical exam skills.
It is ironic to need medical equipment to be a medical student. I hope by sharing my story with your support we can continue to break down barrier associated with disability experiences.
Thank you for any and all support!
