Please help Steve with medical expenses

Hi my name is Michelle and I am fundraising for my friend Steve Shrader.

Hello friends,

Steve's fall on Sunday December 3rd has really put his family back financially. He is fighting to keep his spirits up, but the loss of income is really worrying him. He is self-employed. If some of the community has the ability to help financially, they would appreciate it.

He was released from the hospital last week. So far, the portion of medical bills NOT covered by insurance is over $17,000 and climbing. This does not include the outpatient appointments in the near future. He will be at home for 2-4 weeks before a partial return to work. No ladders for 12 months.

For a bit more detail:

Steve was at the car wash he owns repairing a leak in the ceiling. He fell from a 12 ft ladder. The ladder beat him to the ground so that when he landed he hit the ladder first then the cement floor. The belief is that the ladder sheered off the 5 broken vertabrae. He also has 7 broken ribs and a broken left hand. The number of breaks is too high to count when viewing the x-rays so they are just counting the affected bones.

His sleep is constantly interrupted by muscle spasms. You know that little twitch we all do as we take that last step into sleep? It often jolts him back awake with an intense pain across his back.

As you can imagine, this situation has been difficult and the Shrader family could use some help in their time of need.
